Bill and Nancy Anger
Nancy and I first became acquainted with the Casa in the 1980's when we moved to Phoenix from Chicago. We were drawn to the community's spirit and immediately recognized how much we could learn and grow by becoming part of that community. I went through the RCIA program in the mid-1990's at the Casa with Nancy as my sponsor. That experience led to our participation in various programs and volunteer opportunities that have deepened our connection to the community and enriched our spiritual lives.
The Casa's mission of spiritual growth, healing and transformation, and service to others has given us an awareness of the needs of the larger community. The Just Faith program educated us about various social justice issues that are ever-present in this country and the world. The program prompted us to engage in service opportunities offered by the Faith in Action ministry. The Franciscana Guaymas Medical Ministry has enabled us to serve those beyond our borders by hosting families whose children are undergoing medical treatment. We also have been enriched by serving in various ministries within the Casa community.
Few places provide the live-changing opportunities that we have experienced at the Casa. We enthusiastically give our legacy gift to the Casa, knowing that the Casa's La Verna Society and Endowment Program will sustain the various ministries and programs that enhance the lives of so many.
